an experience of a lifetime! Our Multi-Country Study Abroad Programs
What is Special About GLS Multi-Country Study Abroad Programs?

Our multi-country programs are unique in that we combine a traditional host country immersion experience on the beautiful island of Cyprus, with extensive co-curricular travel to
up to 11 countries in Asia, Europe and the Mediterranean.
There are no other programs quite like our multi-country programs offered to US students. We design multi-country programs because many academic topics are regional or global in nature and the student experience is enhanced by
seeing first-hand what is being studied in the classroom.
How it Works
Our multi-country study abroad programs are built on the foundation of a traditional host university immersion study abroad experience. Students complete all of their classroom work at the
University of Nicosia in Cyprus and participate in educational excursions to other countries on scheduled breaks during the semester. Courses are taught by University of Nicosia faculty, with other University of Nicosia students.

We have extended the length of our semester programs and carefully planned our travel itineraries so that program travel does not disrupt our students' classroom experience at the University of Nicosia. We do NOT count the field experiences during our co-curricular excursions toward our students' classroom contact hours. We work closely with University of Nicosia faculty and administrators to coordinate class and travel schedules to avoid any disruption to the academic component of our programs.
The net result of this coordination is that our multi-country programs combine the best of both worlds: a traditional immersion into a host country environment with the diverse experiences associated with multi-country travel.
A Few Examples of Curriculum Integration
In any given semester, our students in our various multi-country programs will conduct site visits in over forty cities in sixteen countries from the United Kingdom to China.
These types of experiences cannot be replicated in any classroom.
Cyprus as Our Base for Multi-Country Programs
Cyprus serves as our home-base for our multi-country study abroad programs. Our students spend the majority of their semester or summer in Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus is a member of the European Union and provides a safe, friendly and welcoming community for our students. Many students tell us that Cyprus feels like their "home away from home."
The unique location of Cyprus at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa gives us the opportunity to design innovative study abroad itineraries. The privileged geographic location of Cyprus allows us to focus on relevant regional and global issues such as the internationalization of business, comparative world cultures, the evolution of the European Union and the influence of Mediterranean societies.

A Testimonial from a Past Student
Angela S.University of New Hampshire
Semester in Europe"I had never traveled out of the country, so I was quite excited to embark on a journey that would cover 12 countries! The traveling was incredible; we were able to see so much that I could never do on my own. And having our home base in Cyprus was perfect. The culture, the people, all so full of life and welcoming. It was the trip I needed to realize all the beauty in different people and cultures."Read more multi-country program testimonials from GLS alumni:
