Summer in the Mediterranean: Early Christianity
Program Description
This Summer in the Mediterranean: Early Christianity program traces the footsteps of the Apostles as they advanced Christianity westward through Cyprus, Greece and Italy. You will study the history of early Christian thought and art from a home base in Cyprus, a beautiful and historic island at the crossroads of Europe and the Middle East, and the first country to convert to Christianity.
Outside the classroom, students have visited monasteries in the mountains of Cyprus, the cave where the Apocalypse was written and the Vatican. In addition to exploring Cyprus's rich historical heritage, you will take a multi-day cruise through the Aegean islands of Greece, with their rich ecclesiastical history, and visit Athens and Rome.
The program is taught from an academic perspective and welcomes students from all faiths and backgrounds.
