Summer in Beijing




Curriculum and Faculty

The Summer in Beijing program combines content courses taught in English with an optional Chinese language course. The subjects of the content courses are related to philosophy, economics, public policy, sociology, culture, literature and music. The courses are taught by prominent PKU professors and renowned experts. All courses will be held at the Peking University campus. Students will receive an official transcript from Peking University upon completion of the program. Students may choose 2 content courses from the list below.

The optional Chinese language course will be taught by experienced teachers of the International College of Chinese Language Studies of Peking University. In order to guarantee the quality, students will be divided into 3 classes of elementary, intermediate and advanced level according to their language ability after the Mandarin language placement exam. Content courses are 2 credits each, while the Chinese language class is 1.5 credit.

NOTE:

Students can also take COMM-280: Intercultural Communications. This is a 3-credit, online course offered by the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. Students will attend the course online, and the University of Nicosia will issue the transcripts.
