Semester in Europe: Art
Curriculum and Faculty Overview A high quality, interdisciplinary academic curriculum is at the heart of our Semester in Europe study programs. Students develop a comprehensive view of European Art through courses that complement each other and the travel component of the program. Taken as a whole, the curriculum allows students to explore the history and contemporary theory and environment of European Art. We select some of the best faculty at the University of Nicosia to teach Semester in Europe courses and our professors have consistently received very positive feedback from students.

NOTE: Students can also take COMM-280: Intercultural Communications. This is a 3-credit, online course offered by the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. Students will attend the course online, and the University of Nicosia will issue the transcripts.
Teaching Methods
- All courses on the Semester in Europe study abroad program are University of Nicosia courses taught by University of Nicosia faculty using University of Nicosia syllabi on the University of Nicosia campus. The University of Nicosia issues the transcript for this program.
- Courses are taught on an intensive schedule and meet for approximately 5 hours per week for the eight weeks that students are in Cyprus for a total of 42 hours of classroom contact hours.
- Students complement their in-class instruction with 35 days of on-the-ground travel to key cultural institutions in 11 EU countries (e.g. the Louvre, Van Gogh Museum, Uffizi, etc.). We endeavor to have relevant experts leading these sessions and, additionally, provide guides for general city and sightseeing tours.
- While the travel portion is a required part of this study program and linked to the curriculum, it is not-for-credit.
