Our host institution, Beijing Normal University, was founded in 1902 and is considered one of the best and most prestigious universities in mainland China.
The University consists of 19 Schools and 6 Departments, with 55 B.A. degree programs, 100 Doctoral degree programs, and 162 Masters degree programs. It has 7 Key Research Centers of the Ministry of Education of the P.R.C., 2 National Basic Science Research and Training Institutes, 18 Post-Doctoral research stations and 8 national key disciplines granted by the Ministry of Education P.R.C. Beijing Normal University enrolls over 16,000 full-time students, of which more than 2,000 are international students from 99 countries.
Through the years, Beijing Normal University has worked towards deepening the educational reform and raising the level and quality of education. The school ranks among the top universities in China, and a recent agreement between the Ministry of Education and the Beijing Municipal Government made Beijing Normal University the 10th university to get special support from the Chinese Government in order to become a world class university.
