Summer in Cyprus: Animal Science

Curriculum and Faculty

Students on this program will attend two courses that, together, will give them an appreciation of how Animal Science functions in a different socio-political context and a greater understanding of the role culture plays in driving behavior.

Academic curriculum

Students enroll in two courses and earn six credits for this 4-week summer program

BIOL-315: Animal Health and Disease (3 credit hours)
BIOL-215: Animal Husbandry in the Mediterranean (3 credit hours)

Site Visits

The program includes site-visits that will complement classroom teaching. Site visits may include:

  • Dairy farms
  • Piggeries
  • Goat farms
  • Hatcheries  


NOTE:

Students can also take COMM-280: Intercultural Communications. This is a 3-credit, online course offered by the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. Students will attend the course online, and the University of Nicosia will issue the transcripts.
