Semester in Paris: International Business

Host Country & City

France is the most popular international tourist destination in the world, with over 79 million foreign tourists annually. From fine wine and cheese tasting to witnessing the
French National Day, a visit in France does not consist only of monuments but of gastronomy, landscapes and celebrations.

France has the sixth-largest economy in the world. It is one of the founding members of the European Union and the United Nations, and has the largest land area of all European Union member countries. The capital, Paris has long been associated with romance, culture and the arts. The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, the Notre Dame Church, the Arc de Triomphe, the Sacre Coeur Church at Montmartre, the Champs-Élysées and the Palace of Versailles are only a few of the City of Light's remarkable sights.

France is a modern country that manages to hold on to old, sometimes ancient traditions. In just a couple of hours, a visitor can switch from the ultra-modern and almost futuristic scenery of a few areas in Paris, to medieval festivals in small towns that have not changed much since the Middle Ages.

Paris

Paris is justifiably famous for being a vibrant, beautiful and cosmopolitan city with world-class museums, art, culture, businesses, nightlife and restaurants. Overall, Paris is a city where opportunities abound. An impressive metro system allows students to explore all of Central Paris and its surrounding areas. The 5th arrondissement, where the Sorbonne is located, is in the Latin Quarter, a charming neighborhood with a large and active student population and located in the heart of the city, making it convenient for students to explore Paris.

From the Louvre's once-in-a-lifetime masterpieces to the latest in fashion along Avenue Montaigne, Paris offers something for everyone. Students will revel in the city's
sophisticated streets, cobblestoned neighborhoods, and sidewalk café and eventually become one of its own. Whether it is looking for a big-city, fast-paced experience on Champs-Élysées or lounging for hours on a bench in ÃŽle Saint-Louis, students will immerse themselves in one of Paris's many personalities.
